Join WCEE for an evening event to connect with WCEE members and friends and hear from FERC Chairman Laura Swett.
Prior to joining FERC, Chairman Swett spent more than 15 years practicing energy law, including representing electric utilities, transmission owners, and natural gas pipeline companies in regulatory proceedings. She previously served at FERC as an advisor to Commission leadership and as an attorney in the Office of Enforcement.
Chairman Swett holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia and a Juris Doctor, with honors, from Georgetown University Law Center.
Chairman Swett has highlighted the need to strengthen grid reliability, accelerate transmission development to accommodate growing electricity demand, and support timely investment in energy infrastructure. She has emphasized the role of effective regulation in enabling a more resilient and interconnected energy system while ensuring reliable service and competitive energy markets for consumers.
