LNG Exports: What lies beyond the expected near-term expansion?

The United States (US) is in the process of significantly expanding its LNG export capacity in the near term. There are two export facilities currently in operation in Louisiana and Maryland, with more expected to come online soon in Texas, Louisiana, and Georgia. It was not that long ago that the US was talking about building LNG import terminals.

Today’s discussion is all about exports, a shift made possible by the US shale revolution. US LNG exports are projected to quadruple by 2020 from what they were in 2017, and turn the US into the largest exporter of LNG by the mid-2020s.

These projects are expensive, with long development schedules, and require complicated federal permitting processes.Their success can be significantly impacted by global market changes. What does the future hold? What are the driving economic factors for expansion? How big is the global appetite for LNG? What challenges does the industry face (regulatory, environmental, or otherwise)? How might changes in energy and trade policies in the US, Europe, or elsewhere impact the market?

Please join us for light refreshments, networking and cocktails, followed by a moderator-led panel featuring DC women with decades of experience in US LNG.
