WCEE is honored to host Colette Honorable, Partner, Reed Smith Energy and Natural Resources Group. Please join us for an evening discussion to hear about Ms. Honorable’s leadership as Commissioner at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Chairman of the Arkansas Public Service Commission, and past President of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners. Ms. Honorable is a highly regarded thought-leader and practitioner in the domestic and international energy sectors.

About Colette Honorable:

Ms. Honorable has held significant roles in the energy sector as a utility regulator at both the state and federal level. She began her career in utility regulation as a Commissioner, Interim Chairman and Chairman of the Arkansas Public Service Commission. Colette Honorable recently served as Commissioner at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, having been nominated by President Barack Obama in August 2014 and served until June 2017.

Prior to FERC, Colette Honorable served the Arkansas Public Service Commission beginning in October 2007. While there, she led the Commission as Chairman starting in January 2011. As Chairman of the Arkansas PSC, Commissioner Honorable oversaw an agency charged with ensuring safe, reliable and affordable retail electric service. She participated in rate case proceedings, plant acquisitions, transmission buildout applications, regional transmission efforts and other transactions to ensure the reliability of the Arkansas grid and diversity in generation in the state. During Commissioner Honorable’s time at the PSC, Arkansas led the South and Southeast in comprehensive energy efficiency programs, and electric rates were consistently among the lowest in the nation.

Honorable is past president of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC). A native of Arkansas, Honorable is a graduate of the University of Memphis (formerly Memphis State University) and received a Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law.
