WCEE’s 2016 Annual Networking Reception

Finding Purpose and Profit:
A Global Career in Sustainability

 5:30 pm, Monday, Oct 24th 2016

The WCEE Board of Directors would like to invite all WCEE members and supporters to its Annual Networking Reception. This special event offers attendees an opportunity to meet each other and to hear about WCEE’s current activities and future plans.

The evening’s program will also feature WCEE member and respected author Marilyn Waite.

Marilyn will draw upon personal observations and experience of bringing new energy technologies to market and investing in early stage cleantech ventures. She will share her story of how she started her career in rural Madagascar, led teams at a spent fuel reprocessing facility in France, and spearheaded energy and environment bids for projects in Saudi Arabia.

Using narratives from her book Sustainability at Work: Careers that Make a Difference, Marilyn will explain how people around the globe are finding purpose and profit by integrating sustainability into their careers.

Marilyn holds a Master’s Degree with distinction in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering (magna cum laude) from Princeton University. Marilyn currently leads the energy practice at Village Capital, serves on the Board of Directors for Engineers for a Sustainable World and is a Senior Research Fellow at Paul Hawken’s Project, Drawdown.
